Mark started his TV career as a runner in Central Television's Technical Support department, cleaning monitors and mending equipment. He then progressed on to the role of cameraman, predominantly for Children’s ITV, where every day he went into work not knowing weather he was going to be custard pied, frozen in ice or would have to pretend to have flea’s. ITV then let him venture outside when he became a PSC (personal single camera) lighting cameraman, working on network and regional programming. Mark has worked on a wide variety of projects from news and current affairs, documentaries, lifestyle programmes, OB’s and live inserts.
Whether on single or multicamera shoots, Mark has an eye for creating high quality images, with enthusiasm and speed. As an operator Mark, delivers a range of visual techniques that convey the idea and purpose of the story, in the best and most interesting way possible. Being a Director of Media Dog means that Mark regularly works as the main cameraman on our own productions as well as programmes for BBC1, ITV, National Geographic and Channel Five. Mark offers a flexible approach with innovative lighting and camerawork, that goes hand in hand with a knowledge of safe working practices, while working with clients to gain the right results.
