Media Dogs editing skills were put to good use for Japanese tyre company Toyo, when we were asked to produce a compilation of material to be projected onto a big screen for their stand at the international motor show. The footage was collated from all over the world and then packaged into a 3 minuet music sequence that attracted huge crowds to the stand.

We took the seemingly risky step of submerging one of our HD cameras in a swimming pool. No leaks though as our insurance company will be very glad to hear.
The footage of Nyree Lewis, Paralympic world record holder and GB hopeful looked great and featured in our second film project for the London 2012 Committee. We hope that swimming away from Mark in his swimming trunks added extra motivation to her training session.

Media Dog has a history of mounting cameras to stuff, mostly cars but have also filmed speed boats, a jet car, a dog Sledge and as you can see below a Wing walking on a bi-plane for ITV’s Daredevils programme.

This time hired by Gaucho Productions we mounted a camera on Hondas F1 car, as we helped to document their pit stop practices.

For the first time ever Media Dog dabbled in politics, but we weren’t taking any sides. Our brief was to Produce 4 hours of live web streaming for Birmingham City Council’s Local elections. The broadcast presented by Adrian Goldberg was a first for Europe’s largest local authority and was watched by over 2500 people. The transmission involved graphic feeds being taken from the City Councils computerized results service and a two camera studio set and all rooting into our live production gallery. The end product resulted in a more visible election process, the viewers being able to get the results and analyses specifically for the town they live in.

Even Before the Beijing Olympics starts we have ‘won’ our first film project for the London 2012 Committee. Using presenter Adi Adepitan best know as a presenter on Children’s BBC and of course for his Paralympic Gold medal in Wheelchair Basketball. The film shows the Handover ceremony, where a flag is passed from Beijing to London to mark the start of the Olympiad. 34000 DVD’s have produced and will be shown in all schools in England and Wales, introducing the Paralympics to a new generation.

Ok so The Gadget Show called up and said we want you to take part in this shoot’, this was not at all what I had in mind.

Media Dog once again recruited for The Gadget Show as it moves into it’s 9th series.

Creative Republic launched their campaign to become the voice of the creative industry in Birmingham at Vertu Bar in the Jewellery Quarter. We were asked to document this fine event so we did, the best way that we know how. Please have a look at the film and get involved if you want to.
Working with Barnardo’s Media Dog has been commissioned to produce a new video to promote the use of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme at their Sandcastle project. The Sandcastle Project provides help and support for children with Asperger syndrome and physical disabilities. Last year several children achieved the Bronze Award, and this year we will chart their progress as they go for the Silver award. Media Dog are no strangers to the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme as when Mark was a lot younger and had a lot more hair, he achieved his Gold Award. For our first shoot we accompanied the young people to Laser Quest, where we shot them while they shot at each other.

We have just completed a DVD for Leicestershire County Council featuring ITV’s Heartbeat’s star Greengrass or Bill Maynard to his friends. It was great to work with Bill as he is one of the funniest and friendly people we have met. The DVD will be used to encourage older people to claim the benefits they are entitled to.

We are working with All Creatures Great and Small and Doctors star Christopher Timothy for the second time to produce a fund raising and awareness DVD for Barnardo’s. We think Barnardo’s does a fantastic job working with Children and Young People in Birmingham.
“I’ve worked with Media Dog on several DVD projects now, all with a very different brief. The quality of the end product and professional approach has been excellent. They have been particularly good at interpreting what have been quite broad briefs, giving input on ideas and approaches that have really worked well for us. Barnardo’s work with some of the most vulnerable children and families and the sensitivity and confidentiality Media Dog have brought to each project has been impressive. I’ve received really positive feedback about each of the DVDs from a range of regional and corporate staff, including those working directly with children, fundraising teams, and our Chief Executive. I’m not quite sure how they manage to also offer such competitive rates, but won’t question that either! They’ll certainly remain at the top of my list when sourcing production companies in the future”.

I filmed a burning man stunt for National Geographic channels ‘I Didn’t Know That’. Cool stuff if you’re not the stuntman.

Media Dog has just finished development of their new croma key studio. Chroma key is a technique for blending two images, in which a colour from one image is replaced by another image. It is commonly used for weather forecast broadcasts, wherein the presenter appears to be standing in front of a large map, but in the studio it is actually a large blue or green background. We already have three jobs to film for clients web sites.

We have decided to risk Mark’s life again with Channel Fives new show Street Crime Live. Presented by investigative journalist Donal MacIntyre The Birmingham programme looks at Gun and Gang crime in Britain’s second city.

Channel Fives 'The Gadget Show' is back, with Media Dog behind the cameras. Moving to a primetime 8 o’clock slot, this series looks at amongst other things the new Apple iphone and tries to make YouTube web stars out of their presenters Jason Bradbury and Suzzi Perry.

National Geographic channels ‘I Didn’t Know That’ destroys four cars in a huge stunt for their programme about concrete. Media Dog were brought in to film a car explosion and a concrete bomb being dropped on to a car for their biggest ever stunt. Media dog used eight cameras, including three disposable crash cameras for this ‘one take only’ situation. We only managed to wreck one of the three disposable lipstick sized cameras, next time we promise we will try harder. Check out the results on the ‘I Did’t Know That’ podcast.
