Counseling Services

Media Dog continues to build our relationships with local authorities. We are currently working on a Digital library for Birmingham City Council, this clever piece of software will allow the council to manage it’s video, audio and picture archives, enabling them to achieve a much more cost effective and efficient work flow.
We are also producing two films for Leicestershire County Council. One called Dignity in Care, a video promoting the dignified care of older people living in a care homes. The second film promotes the importance of good mental health.
On top of all that, we are in production with a short advert for Buckinghamshire county council. This film centers on how vital a social workers role is to the people they care for.

The fit out of our new offices is still not complete and Starbucks has banned Rob from editing in there!

Wall of Fame

The Gadget Show gets it’s biggest audience ever in the 11th Series, as Media Dog’s Mark crews the studio. Pictured below is Mark filming on Super8 film cam, rather than he’s beloved Sony broadcast camera (he calls it Ian). This item is part of the Wall of Fame strand where we look at two icons of tech past or present and choose which deserves a place on the Gadget shows Wall of Fame. Our Marilyn Munro shoot was Super8 verses JVC’s first VHSC Camcorder. Which one do you think should win?

Plans to move into our new office are well underway with the builder’s moving in to fit out our new HQ. The back of the design studio is being converted into two glass fronted sound proofed edit suites. These will be used for video editing and music production as well as for developing our creative briefs. Hopefully these suites will be finished this weekend!

Merry Christmas Everybody

For the festive season Media Dog teamed up with award winning director Sue Jones to film West Midlands Safari Parks Christmas commercial for 2009. For this polar experience we filmed a family going around the Grotto at the park. Now shooting in such a winter wonderland is a very dangerous and risky business, you should of seen the Elf and Safety forms we had to fill in!

So that leaves us just to say a very Merry Christmas to all our friends and a happy and prosperous new year.

Enviroment : Birmingham City Council

Every age has its challenge, Ours is climate change. Birmingham, pioneer of the industrial revolution, has helped to lead a low-carbon revolution by hosting the first climate change festival. Birmingham City Council used Media Dog’s expertise to produce a film to publicize and record the occasion.
Alongside the events, exhibitions, ideas and fun, 1,500 people signed pledges to reduce their own carbon footprint by 100kg over the next 12 months; over 1,000 local school children turned up to learn about climate change and their home city; 2,000 plastic carrier bags were exchanged for bags for life; 100 items of IT equipment were recycled at one stall – and 160 people took part in a mass tai chi.
So an end to all this talk of gloom and sacrifice, and lets keep on finding new ways to create a greener, smarter, fairer and more beautiful city.

Media Dog get’s a grip on things for Toyo Tyres

Media Dogs editing skills were put to good use for Japanese tyre company Toyo, when we were asked to produce a compilation of material to be projected onto a big screen for their stand at the international motor show. The footage was collated from all over the world and then packaged into a 3 minuet music sequence that attracted huge crowds to the stand.

Take the plunge for 2012

We took the seemingly risky step of submerging one of our HD cameras in a swimming pool. No leaks though as our insurance company will be very glad to hear.
The footage of Nyree Lewis, Paralympic world record holder and GB hopeful looked great and featured in our second film project for the London 2012 Committee. We hope that swimming away from Mark in his swimming trunks added extra motivation to her training session.
